Rachel Ting Huong-Yi graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) (Hons.) from the University of Reading, UK in 2020. She subsequently pursued the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) and a Master of Laws (LLM) at BPP University, Manchester, and had successfully completing both qualifications in 2022.

Following her admission as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court in Malaya in January 2024, Rachel joined Cheah Teh Su, where she focuses on general corporate and equity capital markets matters. Her practice includes advising clients on initial public offerings (IPOs), corporate transactions, and employment-related matters.

Some of the notable matters Rachel has been involved in are as follows: -

  • Assisted in advising Bus Cap Berhad on its successful initial public offering and listing on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.
  • Advised corporate clients on a broad range of commercial and corporate governance matters, including the drafting and review of shareholders agreements, company constitutions, subscription agreements, nominee agreements, service agreements, and various commercial contracts.
  • Assisted employers on employment law matters, including drafting employment agreements, employee handbooks, workplace policies, and documentation relating to retrenchment and workforce restructuring exercises.
  • Advised technology and digital business clients on data privacy and commercial compliance by drafting and reviewing privacy policies, website terms of use, terms and conditions, and service agreements in compliance with applicable Malaysian laws and industry best practices.

Rachel speaks English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and Cantonese (conversational).
