Emilia Ting Nguong Xue

Emilia Ting Nguong Xue graduated with an LLB (Hons.) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2023. She developed strong advocacy and public speaking skills through participation in national mooting competitions, including the RWC NAMCO Sports Arbitration Mooting Competition 2022 (Quarter Finalist).

Emilia commenced her legal career as a pupil-in-chambers at Cheah Teh Su in 2023 and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2024. Her practice focuses on civil and commercial litigation, corporate and shareholder disputes, restructuring and insolvency, and private wealth matters, including wills, probate and estate planning. She has assisted in matters at all levels of the Malaysian Courts

Some of the notable matters Emilia has been involved in includes:

• The defence of a leave application before the Federal Court and an appeal before the Court of Appeal in a complex patent infringement dispute.
• The defence of a leave application before the Federal Court and an appeal concerning an application for leave to adduce fresh evidence before the Court of Appeal.
• A minority oppression action which resulted in the High Court granting a winding-up order against the defendants.
• A fraudulent trading claim brought by a creditor pursuant to Section 540(1) of the Companies Act 2016 before the Court of Appeal, as well as in leave proceedings before the Federal Court.

In addition to her dispute resolution practice, Emilia has been involved in advisory matters relating to employment, restructuring and regulatory compliance matters, as well as strata management issues affecting both individuals and corporate clients.

Emilia speaks English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, and Bahasa Iban.
