Yeong Yoong underwent her undergraduate studies at the University of Bristol, U.K. where she graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Laws degree. She went on to pursue and successfully completed the Bar Vocational Course in City University, London and was called to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincoln's Inn in 2010.

After undergoing the statutory period of pupillage, she was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court in Malaya in July 2011.

Yeong Yoong worked as a paralegal before joining Messrs Cheah Teh & Su in October 2011 as an Associate. She was promoted to the position of a Senior Associate with effect from 1st January 2017. Her current area of practice includes contractual and company related disputes, recovery actions, insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings. She has experience in criminal litigation too.

Besides being fluent in both Bahasa Malaysia and English, she has a basic conversational ability in the Chinese dialects of Cantonese and Hokkien. In her free time, she enjoys baking, reading and walking her dogs.
