Augusta Khew Poh Yen

Augusta graduated with LLB (Hons) from the University of London (External Programme) in August 1995 and thereafter obtained the Certificate of Legal Practice in June 1997 from the University of Malaya. She completed her pupilage in Messrs Iza Ng Yeoh & Kit and was called to the Malaysian Bar in January 1998. Thereafter, she worked in the United Kingdom at various companies for several years whilst pursuing a Master of Science in Information Systems Design course at the University of Westminster. After graduating in November 2002, she returned to Malaysia and joined a regional women’s health and rights NGO as a Programme Officer (Information). Augusta subsequently joined the Firm’s Corporate and Conveyancing Department in May 2005 and was promoted to Senior Legal Assistant on 1st January 2009 and made a partner on 1st January 2013. She retired as a Partner on 31st December 2019 to take a break from practice. She resumed practice with the Firm as a Senior Associate on 24th May 2021 and was made a Partner on 1st July 2023.

Augusta’s current area of practice includes advising and preparing joint venture arrangements, advising on shareholders’ disputes, corporate restructuring and drafting and vetting of contracts for sale of properties and shares, conducting due diligence exercises amongst others.
